Character Summary: An accidental birth to a single mother in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Tala comes from stock that dates back to nothing but factory work and physical labor. Her family, though small, is German to the core and superstitious besides -- good, stolid Catholics. Her father was a bit of a mystery, an occasional shadow who passed through her life late at night when she was usually half-asleep; he was her mother's Great Temptation, the one sin the God-fearing woman didn't turn away from. Surprise, surprise, he was also a werewolf... something that mother and daughter were unaware of until a high-tension evening just a little too close to the full moon (or so Mother said, at any rate). While both Tala and her mother survived the incident, Tala's subsequent infection was something the elder Kaiser woman just couldn't handle, and though there was no disowning or anything quite so severe involved, it did drive a wedge between them.

The next time her father appeared -- in the dark of the night, as he was so good at -- he took his protesting but frightened daughter, trucked her across the state, dumped her in New Orleans with news of two available wolf packs to look up and disappeared yet again for parts unknown. Tala has yet to receive a reason for this, and panicked phone calls to her mother insist that It Was The Right Decision. That was in 2006, just months before Mariah Kindred took over the Frenzy. Needless to say, Tala did not handle her brief time with the Frenzy very well and the moment the new Ulfric gave permission to leave, she leapt for the Lazarus. Since then the short, compact young woman has been working with the Eros and Mike Harris to get a better grasp on her power. She is still skittish and prone to nerves (not to mention severe confusion about life as a lycanthrope), but Tala smiles more often and is starting to open up around people who don't bite first. Tala's the first of the Lazarus "Sub Club" to reach legal drinking age (not that this necessarily means much in New Orleans, natch) and has been known to do the token beer runs at request. She's ultimately a nice girl who tries to do nice things but is also still trying to wrap her head around her more animalistic tendencies. By day, Tala works the register and occasionally waits tables at The Alchemist. By night she can typically be found with part of her pack or working at home on heavy-duty math equations -- her sekrit skill is a scary aptitude with numbers, and with some schooling and some confidence the girl might have a career as an accountant.

She's short rather than petite, and it's only her insane lycanthrope metabolism that makes her curvy rather than stocky -- the girl has a chest that many a Lazarus lady has been known to envy, and will turn shades of horrified if someone even mentions her more out-there assets. As a wolf, Tala is small but built like the proverbial brick shithouse. Her ears are too big for the rest of her head, her fur the color of sand and dust, and she is weirdly expressive for an animal. She doesn't have Matty's hand-me-down charm (mostly because Jael's clothes would never, ever fit her) and tends to be a bit more wistfully girly than Suki, but Tala's quiet nervousness has its own place in the pack hierarchy. Mostly that of apron-toting kitchen help, but the point remains.
