Wereleopards -- known amongst themselves and within the preternatural community as the pard, or pards -- are a heady mix of their two parts. Unlike "natural" leopards, these weres are not solitary, and come together in pards with something approximating a pack-like structure. However, due to both their smaller numbers (cat lycanthropy being more difficult to "catch" than, say, wolf lycanthropy) and their feline nature, pards are far less formal than your average pack of wolves or rats.
But that does not mean wereleopards do not have a hierarchy. Each pard is led by at least one alpha, and it is not uncommon to find two alphas of differing sexes running a clan. Though wereleopard kings and queens –- Nimir-Raj and Nimir-Ra, respectively –- are not as populous as the so-called royalty of other weres, they are not overly rare. Typically a pard is led not by a king or a queen, but by a dominant wereleopard who is then dubbed a léopardé lionne. Essentially, they are their peoples' protector. Weaker or more unruly packs may be led by a lion passant ("sleeping lion"), and these are cats which rule, but neither lead nor protect. Calling them pretenders to the throne would not be a stretch.
Like the cats they are, members of the pard can be very changeable people. Like all blood-borne lycanthropes, they obey the cycles of the moon, and shift in patterns just like you would expect a wolf to. Although they may not have as many rituals or official terms for their lifestyle, they are nonetheless a close-knit society who have tight bonds within their clans and who fight for dominance when needed.
